Municipal Infrastructure Capability
Municipal work carries requirements that private site development does not — utility
right-of-way constraints, traffic accommodation, public disruption, staged construction
in live neighbourhoods, and approvals that run through more than one authority.
Water Supply & Distribution
Trunk main design, distribution extensions, hot-tap connections to live transmission
mains, valve chambers and appurtenances, and pressure zone connections.
Wastewater Collection
Gravity sanitary sewer design, sewermain extensions and lot services, perched manholes,
forcemains and associated pumping stations.
Stormwater & Drainage
Storm sewer design, stormwater ponds and detention, offsite drainage analysis, storm
containment design, erosion and sediment control.
Roadways & Intersections
Industrial and collector road design, geometric layout, pavement structure, accesses,
culverts and drainage ditches, sidewalk and boulevard restoration, signage and traffic
accommodation.
Infrastructure Rehabilitation
Assessment and renewal of aging deep utilities within established neighbourhoods,
including trenching and shoring, staged construction and public coordination.
Planning & Functional Studies
Functional servicing reports, feasibility studies and utility capacity assessments in
support of Area Structure Plan and subdivision applications.

600 mm Water Trunk Main — Acheson Industrial Area
Approximately 1,300 m of 600 mm water trunk main serving a newly zoned
industrial park, connecting to an existing reservoir zone that required expansion to meet
increased demand. Scope included a hot tap of an existing 450 mm transmission main,
a butterfly valve and chamber complete with manual air release, and a 900 mm
steel-cased section installed by horizontal directional drilling beneath Highway 16A.
The crossing required Ministerial Consent from Alberta Transportation to pass through the
Transportation Utility Corridor. Design and inspection, 2015–2017.
Industrial Service Road Reconstruction — Highway 16A / Highway 60
Reconstruction of approximately 600 m of service road to current industrial heavy
duty standards at a major highway junction, providing connectivity for new subdivision
development and existing residents and businesses. Scope included 800 m of watermain,
sanitary sewer and shallow utilities within Alberta Transportation right-of-way, accesses,
culverts and drainage ditches, offsite stormwater analysis and storm containment design,
and final grading and landscaping. Concept through construction management, 2016–2017.
Deep Utility Rehabilitation — Established Edmonton Neighbourhood
Rehabilitation and installation of new deep utility mains within a mature residential
neighbourhood. Scope included trenching and shoring within live streets, perched manholes,
sanitary and storm sewermain extensions with lot services, hot-tap installation and
extension of a 300 mm watermain, road and sidewalk restoration and final grading,
traffic control and signage, and erosion control design and monitoring. Delivered on time
and within budget while coordinating engineering and landscape sub-consultants, franchise
utility providers, stakeholders and the public. 2017–2018.
60-Acre Commercial & Industrial Subdivision
Project management, detailed design and construction services for a 60-acre commercial
and industrial subdivision, including municipal water, gravity sanitary sewer, and HDPE
storm forcemain with an associated stormwater pond and pump station.
Area Structure Plan Servicing Study
Feasibility study and functional servicing report prepared in support of a new Area
Structure Plan application, reporting on existing utility system capacities and traffic
considerations, together with a stormwater management design report.
Logistics Headquarters Site Development
Site civil design for a Western Canada logistics headquarters, including stormwater
containment and drainage conveyance systems, concrete aprons and drainage swales, and
asphalt paving. Publicly tendered and delivered on schedule and within budget.
Net Zero Energy Multi-Family Development
Design and construction management of the first multi-family net zero energy building
in Alberta, together with civil engineering for Edmonton’s first net zero energy church
and multi-family complex.
